Many Honda owners have recently received a package in the mail entitled Honda Canada Odometer Class Action. Here is a brief summary of the information included and what it means for you.

The majority of class vehicle owners need not take any action to receive the benefit of this settlement. The benefits include:
If you have leased your Honda, your allowable mileage will automatically be increased by 5%
If you paid excess kilometre charges to Honda Canada Finance Inc. on a past lease, you will automatically be sent a cheque for the amount paid on the first 5% of excess kilometres.
The mileage based coverage period of any unexpired Honda warranty, extended warranty or service contract will be extended by 5%
There are only two main groups that will need to submit a claim to receive benefits:
Those who paid excess lease kilometre charges to a third party leasing company
Those who paid for repairs that would have been otherwise been covered under warranty had the allowable kilometres on the warranty agreement been 5% higher
